Walk to Cure Diabetes!
Thousands of walkers made a difference in the lives of people with type 1 diabetes while enjoying the Mid-Ohio JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes event held Sunday, September 30, 2007. WBNS-10TV Angela An and Heather Pick served as event emcees, welcoming walkers to The Ohio State University Stadium and participants were entertained with live music performed by The Staplers. Donatos Pizza was represented by Walk Corporate Chairman, Lynn Blashford, as well as President and COO Jane Abell. The Mix 97.1 radio van led over 4,000 walkers to the starting line.
We thank our many business sponsors who dedicated products, services and manpower to support the walkers. In addition members of the community including OSU Basketball Players, Westerville North High School Cheerleaders and Emily Chapman's Girl Scout troop from Powell joined character friends of Scooby Doo, Stinger, and Rufus, the bear with diabetes, to entertain the families. Children also enjoyed crafts, face painting, bouncing inflatables and a Columbus Clippers ball toss.
